Potsdam Teamsters union gets pension bailout from US bailout | St. Lawrence County

POTSDAM — Potsdam Teamsters Local 687 is among the unions receiving a fixed pension payment from the U.S. bailout law, the office of Sen. Charles E. Schumer announced Friday.

Multi-employer plans are created through agreements between employers and a union, with plans typically involving multiple employers in a single industry or related industries. Families and workers faced the prospect of losing their retirement savings — “through no fault of their own,” the senator’s office said.
